~~~ Loving God and Loving our Neighbour ~~~
The Church of Ireland parishes of Desertlyn and Ballyeglish, Diocese of Armagh
The photo' on the left shows our Parent and Toddler Group enjoying one of their summer treasure hunts and typifies the fun and exploration our young children, mums, grandmothers and child minders enjoy each Tuesday morning in term time.  Hours run from 10.30 until lunchtime in the Hall.  The group draws its members from across the community and is always welcoming to new people.
Also cross-community are our Bowls Club and Junior Youth Club.  The Bowls run on Thursday evenings and have a justifiable pride in their competition successes.  New members are always welcome.
The Junior Youth Club runs during the Autumn and Spring terms.  Meeting between 7.30 and 9pm on Friday evenings, youngsters from both the village's Primary Schools - St Patrick's and Moneymore P.S.- get together for soccer, cooking, board and console games and special party nights.
Our branch of The Mothers Union is led by Mrs Freda Stewart.  Meetings run on the third Wednesdays of most months.  As well as Diocesan and Deanery special services, members learn from a wide range of guest speakers.  These include talks on development issues, such as the people living in the slums of Mumbai and the orphanages of Rumania and on lighter topics such as Christmas flower arranging.
Both St John's and Ballyeglish benefit from the enthusiastic and committed choirs and the leadership of their organists.  If you might be interested in joining either choir, simply talk to one of our organists: Mrs Helen Jones, Mrs Donna Wensley or Mrs Beth Hewitt.
House groups and discussion groups also run at particular times during the year, please see our News and Diary page for further information.
